George’s approach to healing relies on manual therapy techniques refined throughout his 30+ years of experience along with a desire to connect with the person in front of him. Although George’s education consists of thousands of hours of medically-related coursework, the trust he places in his intuition and his understanding of human nature result in what can be likened to a form of art. His holistic view of healing addresses the mind, body, and spirit for restoration of one’s total health and to facilitate the return to optimal functionality. George deplores our culture’s dependence on pharmacology (drugs) and surgery. He embraces the philosophy of the medicine men of Hawaii who hold the belief in an injured person’s ability to heal until that individual is able to fully embrace his/her own healing.
Specifically, George combines osteopathic manipulative and physical therapy techniques, deep tissue work, exercise, and education to alleviate pain and restore function. After a thorough evaluation, he works to restore proper alignment to the skeletal system and then uses deep, slow, soft tissue work to return the muscles to their normal resting length. Once this has been achieved, he prescribes the most relevant exercises to help maintain proper alignment, build strength and stability, and to retain flexibility. George sees one of his primary roles as that of an educator and therefore instructs his clients in proper posture, body mechanics, breathing, and a host of other factors which relate directly to preserving a pain-free state.
